Graphite Crucibles

Graphite crucibles are used in fuel–fired furnaces, in electric resistance furnaces, in induction furnaces or simply to transfer molten metal. They come with or without pouring spouts and in a wide variety of traditional and specialized shapes.

Due to graphite being the optimal material for the use of the continuous casting process method it is used to make crucibles.

Graphite is considered one of the most famouse materials to make crucibles due to:

  1. Its high thermal shock resistance
  2. Can bear temperatures up to 2400 C degree (in free of oxygen atmosphere)
  3. Withstanding its physical properties in elevated temperature.
  4. Dry lubrication properties (low metal wetability)
